You may have the best pizza, but without good service, it won't matter

This is one of my favourite quotes and certainly one that should be printed out in all hospitality establishments. Many times we obsess about standards and practices: serve from the left, clear from the right, greet customers in a certain way. In doing this we forget that customers come to us for an experience. And a team member that can empathise with your customers is truly priceless. Someone that can read the mood and body language, that can use their common sense, anticipate customers need.
This being a website aimed a pizzaiolos and pizzeria owners, it's easy to get overexcited about our new pizza special or how big our cornicione is. But don't forget about your customer experience, don't lose sight of it.
Good service can make up for bad food, but good food won't make up for bad service.
